Welcome
Clann Dion is perfectly situated in the Lincolnshire Countryside approximately a 10-minute drive to the Acacia School.
We aspire to help young people to increase their emotional competence so that they can learn to overcome any difficulties that may be related to their autism and how they relate to the social world.
We celebrate individuality, be it diversity in ability, culture, age or ethnicity, whilst growing together and being ourselves, achieving meaningful outcomes and living meaningful lives.
Our Statement of Purpose is available to view/download here.
Our approach
Clann Dion provides a safe, caring and enjoyable environment where the young people’s views, wishes and feelings are listened to and respected. To achieve this, the home provides each young person a keyworker and access to an advocate, alongside the dedicated team within Clann Dion. We aspire to help young people to increase their emotional competence so that they can learn to overcome any difficulties that may be related to their autism and how they relate to the social world. This will help them to increase their abilities in relationship building and accessing services in the community, as well as helping them to achieve academically. We celebrate individuality, be it diversity in ability, culture, age or ethnicity, whilst growing together and being ourselves, achieving meaningful outcomes and living meaningful lives.
Accommodation
Clann Dion can accommodate six young people, each with their own personalised room and en-suite. Each young person will share a dining area, lounge, kitchen, utility room, and sensory suite. We have a spacious front and back garden, with a trampoline, a basket swing and tennis courts. Clann Dion is perfectly situated in the Lincolnshire Countryside approximately a 10-minute drive to the Acacia School.
Activities
Our activities are based on the young persons’ preferences, to further promote their enjoyment and achievement during their time here at Clann Dion. Each person residing at the home will choose their own activities each month and they will be given adequate support to access them. However, at Clann Dion, we love to have a good time. This will include a playlist formulated to the taste of the young people and will always include something to get you dancing. We have our very own purpose-built sensory room where young people can chose to go and relax, or enjoy themselves listening to music or watching a movie on the projector with the surround sound system. We like to invite others from other homes to attend to spread the joy.
Staff & Therapeutic Services
The home is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and all staff are trained to recognise the types of challenges that young people in this group face in achieving their full educational potential. We implement a comprehensive staff training programme, which ensures there is an emphasis on excellence for all staff teams.
Acacia Hall School has a large therapy team that form an integral part of the disciplinary team. The team work very closely together to advise, guide and support staff in meeting the very complex needs of young people by developing and implementing individualised support and skill development plans. See more information on our Therapeutic Services here.

It is the policy of mini´«Ã½ Group to ensure that a safe and caring environment is provided at all times for the young people entrusted to its care, and to protect them from significant harm (Part 2 section 10 of the Young People’s Act 2004). The group is committed to ensuring that all young people attending services are kept safe and that concerns about a child/young person are followed up in the right way and to ensure that everyone including parents/carers, staff, volunteers and young people know what should happen and what is expected of them. Full training in the appropriate procedures is provided as part of the induction process for each new member of staff and reinforced in periodic refresher training and through supervision.
